To be a good role model for my daughter :)
To plan for special (one-on-one time) with my granddaughters. I often see my grown children/grandchildren together, but have not planned one-to-one time with my granddaughters on a regular basis. My goal for the year is to make a regular habit of doing something special ALONE with each one of them.
To always remember to slow down and really reflect on the moment with my kids.
I was great at this when they were babies & even toddlers, but now that they are in school & I have started my own business, I tend to just barrel through my day with my ToDo List: kids lunch packed-check!, grocery shopping- check!, answer work emails/postings-check! The result is that sometimes I focus to much on the "check" and not enough on the QUALITY of my daily interactions. I strive to do better at it each day, and if I don't like today's results...remember I have tomorrow to do better!
I know, some days, when they have school and after school activities and I'm working and trying to fit in grocery shopping, I feel like I'm just rushing them from one thing to another without actually enjoying the time we spend together.
